In our first session, we will provide a comprehensive overview of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) in schools.

This session will serve as both a reminder and a refresher on key aspects of SEND, ensuring you are fully equipped to support all students effectively. During the session, we will cover:

  • What SEND Means: Gain a clear understanding of the various types of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and how they present in the classroom.
  • Key Legislation: Review the essential points of legislation regarding SEND, ensuring you are aware of your legal responsibilities.
  • Graduated Response: and how this plays out in your classroom.
  • Impact on Families: Explore the potential impact of SEND on families and learn strategies for providing meaningful support to them.
  • Your Role in the System: Understand how the SEND system works as a whole and the critical role you play in supporting good outcomes for students with SEND.

This session is designed to enhance your knowledge and confidence in working with SEND students and their families, in order for us to work together to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all our students.
