About Christchurch School
Sport Partnership

The Christchurch School Sport Partnership works closely with schools to inspire all young people to develop a positive relationship with PE, sport and physical activity.

The golden threads of Youth Engagement, Physical Literacy and Tackling Inequalities connect our objectives. The wheel identifies the comprehensive package of programmes and projects which will help us to achieve our five objectives.

1. School Sport and Physical Activity                                                        We will offer an extensive competition and events programme to create positive experiences for all children. We ensure that physical activity and competition provision is designed to reflect the motivation, competence and confidence of young people and has clear intent.

2. High Quality Physical Education                                                            We will work collaboratively with schools to raise standards in PE through detailed planning, high quality resources and meaningful CPD opportunities. If PE lessons are of high quality, we make a significant impact on the personal development of all our pupils & inspire them to seek healthy, active lifestyles. Learning is celebrated physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally = the development of the whole child.

3. Health and Wellbeing                                                                              Our vision for health and well-being is at the heart of everything we do. We will strive to equip our children with the skills and resilience needed to succeed not only academically but also in life. Together, we will create a nurturing, healthy, and inclusive environment where everyone can flourish. We understand that well-being is a shared responsibility, and we will actively engage parents, guardians, and the wider community in promoting health and well-being.

4. Youth Leadership                                                                                      Our Dorset Leadership Academy provides high quality support and development for young leaders and volunteers. Through a range of leadership experiences, young people acquire skills and learn behaviours, which not only develop them as individuals but as drivers of change for others. Through the Leadership Academy, young people can develop a range of skills including decision-making, communication skills, creativity, resilience and confidence. We empower young people to design, deliver and promote physical activity and competition for their peers. We will encourage students to volunteer in community physical activity initiatives, and offer training and recognition programs for youth leaders to support their involvement, creating a culture of active citizenship

5. Community and Partnerships                                                                 We are proud to be working with key partners such as the Youth Sport Trust, Active Dorset, the Football Association, Complete PE and local community sports clubs. We foster strong partnerships with local community organisations, and collaborate on joint initiatives to promote physical activity and provide opportunities for students to engage in community-based sports and physical activities.
